In recognition of its fundraising efforts for the Arthritis Foundation, Massage School San Diego has named Massage Envy as its “step forward†pick of the week.

Massage School San Diego has named Massage Envy as its “step forward†pick of the week for its recent fundraising efforts for the Arthritis Foundation. Massage School San Diego, locator of San Diego massage schools, awards its "step forward" pick to a particularly inspirational organization, individual, or event in the massage industry each week. According to the Sacramento Bee, Massage Envy, a national chain of massage clinics, recently raised $678,173 for the Arthritis Foundation as part of its Healing Hands for Arthritis campaign. As part of its efforts, Massage Envy donated $10 from every massage and facial purchased on Sept. 19. Massage Envy’s skin care partner, Murad, also participated in the campaign, donating 10 percent of its sales to the Arthritis Foundation. Additionally, Massage Envy has also sponsored the foundation’s Arthritis Walk.
Massage Envy has more than 800 massage therapy clinics in 45 of the 50 U.S. states. The company was founded in 2002 and is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. In addition to massage services, many Massage Envy locations also offer spa and skin care services for customers. In 2012, the company was named No. 57 on the Franchise 500 list in Entrepreneur magazine and No. 29 on its Fastest Growing Franchise list.
Murad is a company that provides skin care products for acne and anti-aging treatment. Started by Dr. Howard Murad, the company has partnered with Massage Envy to provide facial and skin care services to its massage clients. Murad is based in El Segundo, California. Its products can be purchased online or in one of 2,000 spa and salon locations across the country. They are also available internationally, in more than 40 countries.
The Arthritis Foundation is a nonprofit organization that raises awareness for arthritis. It also contributes to arthritis research and provides resources, tools and information for those currently suffering from this condition.
