SARANAC LAKE — Sadie Robinson, a student in North Country Community College’s massage therapy program, is one of eight recipients of a $1,000 Successful Hands grant, which supports professional massage therapy students in their educational pursuits.
The grant program received more than 750 applications representing 294 massage therapy schools and/or programs from across the U.S. Each applicants had to write a 200-word essay on “What being a successful massage therapist means to me.”
In addition, each winner’s school receives a $1,000 grant package.
The grant program is sponsored by Performance Health, providers of Biofreeze and Bon Vital massage products, and Massage Envy, a national massage franchisor. This is the third year of this national grant program and includes essay reviewers from the following publications: American Spa, Massage Magazine, Pulse and One Concept, an international organization committed to progressive health care.
