I'll be back to add more more info later but wanted to quickly toss the questions out there for feedback from all of you who may be interested in animal massage or even those who may not. Only to help me in marketing...not to market here.
I run hands-on workshops for both equine & canine massage... two levels - intro and advanced. For argument purposes, my fee is $35 per hour (2 hour minimum for up to 3 people, so approx $70pp). I have discounted rates for larger groups (and Vet Tech students). Group workshops run approx 3 hours depending on the number of participants.
These workshops are comprehensive but are not for professional certification. They are designed for pet owners (like yourselves) and for animal health care professionals wanting to learn more about animal massage for their clients to refer out or use themselves.
I also hold demos and seminars. Demos, I typically charge an hour of my time $60 total (regardless of group size). Seminars depend on what's expected by the group hiring me.
So far my client base for workshops have included: pet owners, Vets, Vet Techs, VT students & faculty, equine & canine rescue organizations, barn workers, kennels, daycare & spas, dog gyms, groomers, agility groups, dog facilities of different kinds, and other pet-related business owners.
My major questions for you:
1. What would you expect to pay for an animal massage workshop like mine, demo, and or seminar?
2. Why?
3. What do you think needs to go into my pricing?
I'm thinking about changing things around a bit and am curious what your thoughts are. TIA, for your ideas!
