So, I've got a problem. Just recently, I had to move into my brother's house, and of course, I brought my kitty along. My kitty's 9 years old, and he's always been an "only child".
He's been introduced to my brother's dog before and there wasn't any problems, he hissed a little but continued exploring the new house while ignoring the dog.
HOWEVER, my brother's got a cat too, and she's about 1 year old. This cat is a real brat, she hisses at me and attacks me anywhere I go. So right now, I'm keeping the cats separated (keeping my cat in my tiny room and his cat in the rest of the house).
So back to the story. Suddenly, while my cat's investigating the big house, his cat (her name is Sophie) sees him. She comes up to him, her fur standing straight up, and hisses at him, attacks him, then chases him around the house while continuing to attack him. I separated them and have been afraid to introduce them again ever since.
Problem is, my cat's getting claustrophobic. He can't be stuck in this tiny room 24/7. How should I go about introducing them, so that my cat gets to enjoy the big house too, and not be stuck in my tiny room? I really don't want my cat getting hurt or scared. How can I make this go as smoothly as possible, without prolonging his stay in this tiny room?
