Extremely long time lurker, first time poster. Posting only because massageplanet.net forced us viewers to get accounts!

I hesitantly became a hobbyist several years ago after reading about massage parlours on the net and reading NOW magazine. If it wasn't for that and my curiousity and my natural nervousness around normal women, I would never have become one. Yes, he was. Fermat is best remembered for this work in number theory, in particular for Fermat's Last Theorem. This theorem states that

xn + yn = zn (the n's are exponents)

has no non-zero integer solutions for x, y and z when n > 2.


I'm sure someone can come up with an MP joke in here, but i'm stumped.

There is actually a great book on Fermat's last theorem titled Fermat's Enigma. Essentially, Fermat liked to upstage the more "learned" mathematicians with problems... and then would offer novel solutions. He never provided the solution for this one (hence, Fermat's Last Theorem)... and it became one of the holy grails of math. Someone finally did prove Fermat's Last Theorem... but he did it using modern (and very complex) techniques... surely not the approach Fermat would have used. If you have a passing interest in math... it is a very good book.

The number of intellects on this board never ceases to amaze me! In keeping with prolonging this thread, here's my 0.02c -

First off, its actually "Fibonacci"... and this is where it gets interesting:

One of Fibonacci's Theorems states that there exists a "perfect" ratio, which is now used by plastic surgeons in reconstructive surgery. Basically there is a "perfect" ratio for:

Distance from top of forehead to nose : Distance from nose to lips : Distance from lips to chin, etc.... something to remember the next time you see your favourite MPA.
