NHS Directory !!! You've got to laugh !!

Hi all,

I've just taken a call from a local G.P.s surgery asking if I was registered with the NHS, as one of their G.Ps wanted to refer on a patient for Reflexology !! I'm not registered and explained that many therapists weren't, because most G.P.s either had no idea the Directory existed or didn't/wouldn't use it .... therefore it was a bit of a waste of money !!

The receptionist i was speaking to was lovely but a very good example of the above ..... neither she nor anyone else in the practice had any idea there was such a directory !! I ended up telling her that somewhere in the surgery ... in the back of some dusty cupboard ..... there should be a NHS directory !!

And they wonder why we don't register !!! ???? You've got to laugh !!!

Fozzyo - some of the data in the directory is more than 2 years out of date - one of my colleagues is listed at an address that she left 6 years ago.... I'm not sure that the people who run the Directory are really sure of what they are doing - well meaning, but a bit out of touch.

I do know of therapists who have received clients through recommendation from the GP's copy of the directory - but not many. To have to pay £50 (or, in some instances £100) for an entry, which is then taken annually by direct debit, just makes me curious as to what is happening with the income.
