A brand new passage parlour has opened up just next to the Broad Street Mall with an aim to relieve stress and tension from its customers and thereby help with mental well-being.

The owner of Touch of Orient Fabio Caiazzo, 27, said that since opening their doors three months previously things have been going well.

"We are continuing to grow and have just started to build relationships with different businesses to provide their employees with massages and other relaxation services," he said.

"Our services look to improve mental and physical wellbeing. As we all know work can be stressful at times but we're looking to build these relationships so employers can help their employees with moments of relaxation if we come into their offices, or they come to visit us themselves."

Mr Caiazzo also explained that there are discounted prices available for many different businesses, provided that they are situated in Reading.

Speaking directly to The Chronicle, Mr Caiazzo said that reviews for Touch of Orient have so far been excellent and customers are loving the experience.

"We're trying to be customer orientated on not just the massages themselves, but the experience people have when they enter the shop," he said.

"We also offer additional things like a wellness room where there are complimentary tea and biscuits and free prosecco as well on special days. We're excited to be here in Reading with you guys."

Mr Caiazzo also revealed that whilst he does not have a background in the massage industry himself, his business partner does and has been imparting his knowledge.

He relayed that this is just one of the several businesses that he currently runs in the town, but decided to take on this venture as he feels that Reading lacks an experience like this one.

"There's a small lack of detail, maybe the products being used or the types of consultations they are doing," Mr Caiazzo continued.

"That will differentiate us from the other similar places. We hold a consultation before the massage, and many places don't."

He went on to say that at Touch of Orient every massage is personalised to the client depending on what they tell the professional they need help with, whether that be a bad shoulder, back, or similar.

They also use high-end products and try to go the extra mile by offering those who take up their services the best quality.

"For example, we use grape seed oil whereas some companies use baby oil. We want the best for our customers," Mr Caiazzo said.
