hiya!

i have a kitten, who is likl and cute
but im really paranoid- he has crusty black things on his eyes, and a little on his nose- what is it, and how can i get rid of it??

Take it to a vet. These things do not go away on their own. It is most likely a viral infection and requires a shot and eye drops or eye ointment. With proper care it can be gotten rid of in a week, if not treated properly, if can cause blindness. Cats that are blind do not live very long.

Prescriptions that cure this cost about 35.00 with the vet visit.

Well, the crusty black stuff on his eyes is normal. All cats get it. It's like when humans wake up and there's sand in their eyes? I just remove it with my fingernail when I see it.

I've never dealt with black crusty noses though. Maybe call your vet and ask if it's normal?

Try to make some week green tea and rub it on his eyes and nose this should clear it up really soon. It should be nothing to worry about some cats get this time to time.

It could be a sign of an irritation in the nose & eyes. Keep the area clean by gently wiping it with a clean damp cloth. Make sure your cat's litter is clean.

Keep an eye on it and if it doesn't clear up within a few days call your vet and ask them. Better safe that sorry

The moist black crust under your cat’s eyes has a fancy scientific name: eye boogers! In similar fashion to people after a long night of sleeping, all cats will develop a small amount of discharge from their eyes throughout the day. Some cats develop more than others, especially Persians and Himalayans. That’s because they have pushed-in, flat faces, and the hair from their face is more likely to contact their eyes, causing them to tear. Some cats, especially orange cats, have a little pigment in their tears (and saliva), and the crusty material can be darkly colored. It is nothing to worry about. You can clean it off with a moist tissue if too much accumulates. A truly excessive amount should be addressed by your veterinarian who may discover that the cat is experiencing excessive irritation of the eyes, and could hopefully prescribe some kind of treatment for the problem.

My kitten had crusty black stuff in the corner of her eyes from time to time. It goes away as they get older. It's just like the "eye boogers" humans get, except ours is like, yellow. xD
The stuff on his nose is most likely boogers, like the ones we get! See a pattern?
It doesn't seem that serious, but if anything new and more serious comes up, then you should consult your vet.

It's the same as with people when you get eye and nose "boogers". As long as the discharge is not green or yellow and runny, the eyes aren't swollen or red, no sneezing, congestion, no diarrhea, vomiting and is eating/drinking and otherwise normal....there is no need to worry!

Those are usually normal in kittens and cats. I'm not sure what it is but they can be easily removed with a washcloth that is slightly damp with warm water.
