A prostitution racket operating under the guise of a massage parlour was busted by a team from the Kharadi Police Station in Pune, leading to the rescue of six women, including three from Thailand. During the raid, the manager of the centre was arrested for allegedly forcing the women into prostitution, while legal proceedings have been initiated against the owner under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
According to officials, police received information about illegal activities being carried out at the massage centre located on Kharadi-Mundhwa Road. A decoy customer was deployed to verify the tip-off, following which a police team raided the premises.
Investigations revealed that the women had been lured with promises of substantial earnings and were later coerced into prostitution. The rescued women, including the three foreign nationals, have been sent to a rehabilitation centre as directed by the court.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Hemant Jadhav, with Senior Inspector Sanjay Chavan, Sub-Inspector Rahul Kolpe, and police personnel Navnath Valke, Surendra Sable, Arjun Budhavant, and Amol Bhise participating in the raid.

Officials stated that complaints had been received earlier regarding illicit activities being conducted under the guise of massage services. Acting on Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar’s directives, the force has been cracking down on such centres. In 2024 alone, actions were taken against 33 massage parlours across the city, with legal cases filed against managers and owners involved in the illegal operations.
