Puppy and introducing a dog later in life?

Currently our puppy is all we have. No kids, no other animals.
Well within the year we are planning on getting a cat.
She will be a year in October and we will probably get her a cat playmate at that time. And don't say cats don't play with dogs, because I've seen plenty. We will just have to find that cat!
She has already been around cats, her breeder had cats, and she was around cats for about a week not to long ago.
My concern is (even though it is long out) will she have a issue with a new pet in the household.

* Our concern is about getting one now is her eating the kitty litter. She is only 3 months.

We are also going to get a bigger dog (she is a rat terrier) when we get a house, but we will get it when it a puppy so it won't be like bringing this huge dog in all at once, it'll go on her.

* she is in puppy class. I'm getting her introduced to dogs in the neighborhood.

Am I going to have trouble when we get the cat and then eventually when we get the dog?
And eventually we will have kids. I am a planner, obviously. But, I want to do the right things NOW so she will be adjusted.

i think that the cat and dog will get along good i just got a new cat and he plays and sleeps right beside my olbino dobermanpintch.If your question was about will you dog get along with kids all i would say to do is bring ur neice or nefews around the dog alot so it gets to no how to be around kids,

they will get along fine they will learn to accept eachother like a brother and sister. you are the boss they are in your domain. you set rules good luck
