Question re couch back rests

Hi Everyone

My first post so forgive me if it's in the wrong place...

I am about to return to work after my maternity break and am looking at getting a new, or at least different, couch.

My current couch doesn't have a backrest and as I plan to do alot more beauty treatments than I used to I now need one. The trouble is the backrests on all the couches I'm looking at seem really small.

I plan to have my clients sit on the couch for leg waxing, and pedicures and if the back rest is too small a) they won't be able to rest their head back and b) for the pedicure I won't be able to reach their feet from the end where I will be sat !

Are the photos just misleading and in fact the back rests are big enough that my concerns will not be an issue, or is it a genuine problem? If it is a genuine problem and you know where I could get a couch that would work for me please could you let me know?

I understand your question, although I'm a massage therapist that works in a hair & beauty salon. The couch in the salon is specifically designed for doing beauty therapy, but would be not good for mobile work.

My mobile couch has a back rest where a complete section can be raised, it's the full width of the couch and 56cm long and therefore wouldn't give neck and head support.

I've had a quick look and I don't know if this couch would suite you needs better:

But if you're working from a beauty room then there is a lot more choice of configuration.

There are a lot of cheap tables from China around that have every add on possible, but when you actually look at them, the add-ons are all in the wrong place and/or the wrong size. The China tables are usually pretty heavy too.

You'll probably find you have to look at more expensive tables to get what you are after, they are out there, just not in the discount lines.

Are you after a portable table?
Do you do massage? Do you want a face cradle that sticks out from the end of the table, or a face hole in the table? (face cradle is usually more comfortable for the client) Do you want the leg section to drop down for pedicures?
