Even though the religions differ, Christianity vs Islam, isn't this the same type of fanaticism?

I think most know slaves were one leg of the Atlantic Trade Triangle. Manufactured goods from Europe (guns & knives) were traded for slaves in Africa then these slaves were traded for cotton & tobacco in the Americas to complete the 3rd leg of the triangle back to Europe. Therefore the ships were able to remain loaded with cargo at all times. I do agree that the Christian & GOP coalition in Texas is rewriting history to suit the conservative viewpoint but this part is not a total misrepresentation as are many others.
Their biggest misrepresentations are trying to write Thomas Jefferson & Ben Franklin out of history because of their Deist leanings & stated misgivings about Christianity. The idea that the US is a "Christian Nation" is at the heart of their attempt to re-write US history.
