Recent Graduate Needs Help Marketing Skills To Chiropractors

Hi there bodyworkers!! I am so excited to have recently graduated from Southeastern School of Neuromuscular Massage. I will be taking National Boards this summer and I can't wait to start practicing as a Certified and Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist!

I am interested in practicing clinical massage therapy, and plan on pursuing continuing education in structural integration. Working with a chiropractor seems like the best fit for me. I would like to practice in an environment that will provide me with constant learning opportunities.

Does anyone have any insight into how to market myself to chiropractors?

Find a Chiropractor that is Supportive

I have been working for two fabulous chiropractors that specialize in Clinical Biomechanics of Posture for about two years now. I will begin offering my services as a massage therapist to them in the fall, but I have mainly been a rehabilitation assistant.

If you want to be appealing to a chiropractic office, I would emphasize your desire to work, your punctuality, reliability, etc. They want to know you are going to show up, you are going to do a great job charting and you are going to keep clients rotating within the clinic. If you have any business/marketing experience I would also emphasize that.

In addition to being a great complimentary therapy for Chiropractic, massage is an additional source of revenue for a Chiropractic office. A good clinic will want you to 'fit' but they will also want you to be conscious of the business side as well.

Remember, there are a lot of 'stigmas' about LMP's and what they look like, how they work, etc. So be dressed professionally, be on time and present yourself like the health care professional that you are! And enjoy! I have learned so much from Chiropractic and I utilize that knowledge in my practice ALL THE TIME!
