referral question...

i do the refer 3 get one free special. my clients love it.

here's my question:

do gift certificates count? specifically: one client has referred me 2 people and bought 2 other g/cs. those that she gave the g/cs to haven't come in yet.

it occurred to me todya that i might owe her a freebie.. but i don't know. do i?

I was thinking if I did referral rewards I would keep it separate from GC sales. I keep everything separate from GC sales. But at the holidays I had people buying several GC at once and I thought maybe I'd create something like buy # get one free or something.

Really if it's your reward system you can do whatever you want to do. The beauty of being your own boss!

i do not include gift card purchases towards a referral. but what i will sometimes do is run a gift card special of buy 2 get the 3rd at 1/2 off. but no, to me a referral is different than someone a gift card. but if you'd like to give them credit for that person, maybe you could do something like if that person redeeming the gift card came back on their own, maybe then you could count it.

I don't think I would consider it a referral until they come in. What you are looking for from the referral is someone to actually experience your touch and possibly (probably) become your client. Even though your current client paid for the massage you haven't had the chance to "show your stuff" yet. Just my opinion.
