Referring Clients to Other Therapists

Hi.  I don't guess this is going to be as much of a thread as a general thought.I have a business card rol-a-dex and have been majorly into referring my clients to other people over the years.  My clients know that if they are travelling or if they plan to move, I do my best to already have made contacts somewhere close to where they are going.As I meet new people who are competent or as I get new clients who have seen someone else, I always try to save a card or info on that individual.  I am very much into networking.My thought is this:If there is someone on this board who you think you'd be able to refer a few people to over the years, why not PM them and ask for some business cards.Of course, maybe the therapist is uncomfotable giving them out to you until they know you a little better, so I'd say leave it open ended if you can, so as not to make the therapist uncomfortable. But it is a thought for helping to build each other's businesses.So far I have four clients who are going to benefit from my having found these boards. And, I think I have been here less than a year.That's pretty good!

Those are all really great thoughts and I like to do the same as well.  Networking is one of the mosts important and rewarding things to do for you business and for your clients.  People are really blown away by the fact that you are willing to refer them to someone else...shows that you truly care and are looking out for them.  I love that!
