I am seriously considering having an esthetician rent a room here 3 days a week. I would like to charge her by the day because I do not have a receptionist to keep up with her appts to charge perceneforum.xxxe. She will be able to use my table but will provide and wash her own sheets. I have no idea what to charge...

Rent by the day

Take a reasonable rate per month and divide it by 30 to come up with a day rate.

When we rented the room for one afternoon at the massage school we went to a couple of weeks ago, they charged us $20 PER CLIENT. That's $60 to do 3 hours' work. That's too much-- but it served in a pinch.

For comparison, our per diam rate at our new lease is $30. Why not figure out what YOU pay-per-day with your own rent, and just charge her that?

One thing that is pretty common here with day rentals is to have the renter commit to all of "that day" for the month. So instead of renting one day at a time, they are actually renting all of the Mondays for instance for $100-125/month.

Oh, Sandra-- by the way. I just thought... you might want to check on your state's regulations about sharing space with an esthetician. There may be something about that. I have no idea, it's just "on my mind" lately because of all our establishment stuff going on, so I thought I'd mention it.

I will be offering her Thursdays and Saturdays as that is the only open room time. And she can also sell her products. The going rate is $40 for a 30 min basic facial and $65 for an hour.

I have decided to wait on this until I either move into a bigger place where I have a room for her full-time, or I might go back under someone in the future and just rent a room myself...
