I had a chance to only run through this real fast, so there may be mistakes, but possibly it will get you started. I don't know that it is the best resume example, but something is better than nothing, I guess.
I'd suggest that you make up your sample cover letter and resume --- posting it here when you're done and let others come up with a good critique to make it the best it can be.

I searched all of your old posts and these things stand out for use in the resume or cover letter. Once you write something, please bring it here and maybe more people can help you.You graduated from Apollo College of Boise (now Carrington College) in 2007 with a 3.4 GPA.You have no gap in employment during the years out of massage school. You consider your strongest modalities to be trigger point therapy, Swedish relaxation, and cranial-sacral."You are able to work with picky clients (I am sure someone has better wording out there). You'll be taking the MBLEx and have ABMP membership. You'll have your Work License for Idaho and will have been through their background check. You'll have your massage liablity insurance. You are prior military (may or maynot be useful).

A few things to keep in mind...It doesn't really matter on your cover letter and resume if you graduated in 2007 or not. Unlike technical professionals, you do not have to fight diminishing knowledge over time since the requirements of a massage "job" doesn't particularly change. You came out of school with a certain knowledge and you don't loose any qualifications by not doing the work right out of school, as long as you keep up with your skills.I have a sample resume on my blog (you are welcome to check it out). Let me look at it and see if I can tweak it to helpful in your situation. I'll be back later. Possibly the end of the week/or so as I am taking care of my private practice clients along with clients of two out-of town therapists (vacation relief) and practice-sitting an additional day & a half in a therapists office this month.I promise I'll work on it though.

Thinking... Thinking... thinking... Give me a little. Also, use maestra's tip and start working on this. Line up family members and work for a half day or day, practicing just as if you were in a spa with this set up.

Many places only book 15 minutes apart... and it is common that with such short breaks between clients you need every minute. (Say goodbye to client, get client water, change sheets, look over next client's intake form, greet new client & take them to the room, allow time for them to get on table... and that's assuming they didn't wait until you went to collect them from reception to have to go to the bathroom, thus making you run late!)This is true. Unfortunately, that is one thing that we did not simulate accurately in clinic at school.

Resume & Cover letter
ย
I was not sure if this should go here on in the students forum. I am not a student, so I thought here. Ha.I desperately need help with a resume and cover letter. Generally, I'm awesome at this! But I feel as though I am out of my league here! It has been since 2007 that I graduated and I have no experience, no license, no membership organization, etc. I am applying to a couple neighbouring city spas, because a license is not required there. In the meantime, I'll be boning up and working toward my membership, national cert, and license. In school, I was the one who could be relied upon to take care of the more difficult clients. I was the only student to do a full hour massage (that actually extended beyond that sometimes), got a man with severely fused spinal joints (among other things), etc. I do well with deep pressure, trigger point work, relaxation massage, etc.
