An undercover investigation led to the arrest last week of two women involved in a prostitution ring operating out of a Scottsdale massage parlor, police said.
Massage therapist Stacy Vanorski, 38, and parlor owner Pongsai Allison, 58, were taken into custody last Friday after a detective posing as a client uncovered prostitution at Scottsdale Airpark Massage, 15001 North 74th St, according to court documents.
Scottsdale police said numerous complaints of suspicious activity prompted the investigation.
Vanorski is charged with prostitution, performing a massage on an uncovered client, performing a massage while touching a client’s genitals and performing a massage with the intent to arouse. Allison is charged with failure to comply with massage regulations.
On Oct. 4, an undercover Scottsdale Police Department detective entered Scottsdale Airpark Massage with the intent of receiving a massage and attempting to negotiate an act of prostitution with one of the massage therapists, according to the documents.
About 25 minutes after entering the business, as Vanorski was preparing to perform a sexual act on the detective, authorities stormed the building, court documents said.
According to the court documents, a detective ordered Vanorski, who was in a locked treatment room with the detective, to open the door.
Detectives seized evidence from the business including condoms and a condom wrapper, the court documents reported.
Allison was not at the business when detectives entered; detectives asked the receptionist to call Allison and have her come to the business.
She is charged with allowing a person to perform a massage behind a locked door, having no on-site manager at the massage facility and failure to maintain massage logs.
Scottsdale Airpark Massage remained open Thursday.
