Anyone heard of SCRIP?? There is a website, http://www.scrip.com but each local is different. This program is more national.
There is a local Catholic SCRIP program in my area. Do a search for your cities name plus the word SCRIP and see if something pops up. The woman in charge told me they sold in certificates last year. She also said the participants are very loyal to the businesses. Get this, some even go so far as to tell the businesses they will not use a business any longer if they dont participate!! LOL Talk about pressure!!
I figure I will start out with my new foot treatments in September. She said that would be perfect because they send home info and updates with the kids who attend the local Catholic school system. Being a service, I can afford to donate a bigger % than a retail. Plus, I like to do this type of thing.
How it works is they take orders and submit them to the businesses on Monday late afternoon. Then, they come around and pick up the certificates and pay for them at the discounted rate. In my case, it would be easier for me to just drop them off.
They do millions and millions of dollars of certificates each year just for this program. Here is a blurb from their website:
Here is a link to the Catholic SCRIP program I will be joining: http://www.mps.k12.wi.us/scrip/index.htm
I just did a search again for my city and SCRIP, there is a Lutheran SCRIP as well.
I really like how these programs are set up. A program like this has the ability to really step up a practice, dont you think??
