Seacoast Orthopedic Massage, owned by Scott Corliss, specializes in clinical massage that provides a multitude of various treatment options to best fit the client's needs and expectations. The term "orthopedic" massage does not refer to a specific technique or treatment but a vast knowledge of various massage and bodywork modalities such as deep tissue massage, sports massage, myofascial release, active engagement techniques, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and active release technique.
When did you arrive at Pease?
I arrived at Pease in June of 2012.
How many employees do you have?
I am the only employee of the business.
What are your specialties?
My specialties include orthopedic massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, myofascial release therapy, active release technique and kinesiotaping.
The premise behind orthopedic or clinical massage is based on four principles: orthopedic assessment, matching the physiology of the injury with the physiological effects of the treatment, treatment adaptability and understanding the rehabilitation protocol.
What sets me apart is my advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology and kinesiology as well as clinical assessment and reasoning skills. Having these skills allows me to accurately assess and treat most musculoskeletal conditions that patients deal with on an acute or chronic basis. I also work with a large group of athletes that range from competitive marathon runners to crossfit athletes.
What are your future plans for the company?
My future plans are to continue to grow the practice and be the one location for people to come and experience relief from chronic musculoskeletal pain and to provide the highest quality of bodywork for the athletic population in the Seacoast area.
