There are many smart illegals that deserve to go to college....with that said, it is insane to spend one single tax dollar on an illegal alien over an american citizen.

Sorry, but I've taught too many Americans who think that all the work they did passing through their mother's birth canal should entitle them to everything they desire without any effort on their part. Grants and loans to college should be based on merit, on grades, on residency and not on citizenship. College and university should be a reward for hard work not for citizenship. Maybe if American kids had more competition, they'd take themselves and their futures seriously, they'd pay attention in class and they'd go home after school, open a book and study.
