Starting a Mobil Massage Business

Now that I'm finished with school I would like to go into business for myself. ;D  However I don't know where to start.  :-/ I feel like I need to take some business classes but I don't even know where to start there. So far I've been to some workshops and they were all about getting loans and starting product-based business not service based business.  Does any of you lovely people know what I should do.  Or at least where I should start.  Thank your for your time.

Congrats on completing your studies!I think many people will agree, the best way to learn is on the job, which means getting a job. It will help you develop your skills and teach you all of the things you don't learn in school - how a business works, dealing with the public, scheduling grief when someone calls in sick, etc.Plus, if you really want to start a business - where other people work for you - it is hard to convince other therapists you know what you are doing if you have not worked as a therapist or owned a business.regarding banks and loans, they will lend money against something - equipment you buy, a house they can repossess. Something tangible, which is not a big part of service businesses. Even if you are very successful and have years of generating a steady income, they want to know you can pay the monthly payment if you break your arm. Tough customers!Good luck!

Are you wanting to start a mobile massage business, as you mentioned in your eforum.xxx?If so, I recall we have a member on the boards who has a business like that, but you'll have to do some searching to find him, I guess, as I can't recall his call name.  I think he was on the east coast.Hope that helps.As for taking business classes, this business forum has some links for those types of things, but, once again, I am not much help for providing them, and can suggest you search for business and marketing courses on this forum, or go back to the old threads and look around a little.  I know there is a lot of info floating around in our older threads on that sort of thing.Hope that helps get you started, and if I can locate any links, I'll post them.
