Tablets, photoshop, and drawing for a complete newbie? Please teach me!?

I love drawing and consider myself pretty good with pencil and paper, but I want to use my new tablet I got for christmas to draw like alot of the people on deviantart.com. I have photoshop and a bamboo wacom tablet, but I haven;t the slightest clue where/how to begin drawing. I practiced with the graffiti app on facebook and got pretty good but that's completely and utterly different. Please help, I don't even know how to change the color of the paint brush . XD
 
just like on paper but with more freedom!

Sketch and gesture work on the bottom layer, then inking on the layer above. One more layer underneath for paint.

There are many photo shop drawing tutorials on you tube.

The number one thing you need to do, before you draw is to adjust the brush softness to hard. You can do this by tapping the shift+bracket keys (shift+ [ or ] ).
