In one of the American massage mags I have at home (so either Massage Magazine of Massage & Bodywork) I remember they did an article on the use of Massage for individuals suffering from Anorexia. It took evidence from doctors who work with eating disorders and clinical studies I believe. Was absolutely fascinating, its been a while since I read it but what I got from is that the therapy helped people deal with what is for some the root cause of their disorder ... self-confidence.
Allowing someone to touch you so intimately, without judgement, just for the therapeautic benefit was incredibly powerful for some. Anorexia is so often unrelated to weight or food - that is the result of something else. And Massage helps people on so many levels, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually - they can take from it what they need.
If you search on Google for "massage anorexia" you will find a lot of articles about the benefits.
