Hi all, I have been contacting residential/dementia care homes in the area offering pamper sessions and have had quite a lot of interest/bookings recently. I offer file and polish, hand and arm massage and seated back, neck and shoulder massage to the residents. I am in the process of compiling my client record sheets and contraindication check lists, risk assessments etc. and just wondered if there was anyone else that had taken this route and if so would really appreciate some advice and feedback. Will let you all know how it goes next week....so looking forward to it as the residents, I'm sure, will really benefit from the treatments. xxx

I recently went on a one day course on 'massaging clients with dementia' and found it useful. In fact I booked in a dementia client (in her own home) just afterwards. Doing the consultation wasn't the easy but just did my best, and wrote additional info later as the client remembered stuff like hip operation etc. Hope it is going well for you.
