Well, this site recommended a simple tofu recipe just to try it or begin cooking with it or whatever. Anyway first I got some extra firm tofu, pressed it for 30 minutes, cut the block into 1/2 inch thick cutlets (i made 4, cutting it in half the thick way and then the long way, if that makes sense.) Marinated in BBQ sauce all day, then baked in the oven at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Anyway, it didn't seem like it absorbed the BBQ sauce very well and it was too rubbery for me, it was meant to be eaten on a sandwich.
At this point I am willing to try it as part of something else such as a stir fry or even as a scramble but I would like some ideas to make it taste better. I just didnt like it at all at least the way I prepared it. (From what I've read, if you don't prepare it right, it will taste awful.)
Tips anyone please?
