Towels

Hi there everyone

I was just wondering where is the best place to purchase towels to use during treatments? After 12 months of working from a home-based treatment room and seeing around 2 clients a week, I've recently started working in a clinic and am now treating between 3 and 5 reflex clients a day . I seem to be going through a serious amount of towels and need to purchase more to ensure I don't run out in the middle of the day.

I have previously bought lovely towels from Primark/Pennys but think if I'm going to be buying in bulk I'd like to source a cheaper alternative.

I bought mine from QD, Matalan and Dunelm Mill, some use Majestic Towels or Towelsrus

I bought loads from TowelsRus about 10 years ago and they are now at the end of their life, I think this is pretty good for towels that barely get dirty before they get washed and tumbledried again!

I've just replaced mine with a set from Debenhams as the bath sheets were £20 down to £6 each, 70% off (They are huge for bath sheets and really soft too). I think their sale ends soon, but have a look online!

I brought mine from Salon Serve at the holistic health fair about 6 years ago and they're still lasting well. They do really big bath sheets which are perfect for covering with no gaps for massage.

They have a website and do some good deals on all sorts of salon stuff too - I got a pedistool from them.

When I'm doing reflex, I tend to use small towels which most hairdresser supply places sell, (EWD is my local Hairdressing supply place), sold in packs of about 10 - they are the ones they tend to use around your neck at the hair wash - they are a bit on the thin side, but mine have still lasted after 6 years. I dress the couch with couch roll and place a small towel across the foot end of the couch, which has a nicer feel under the client's foot than the paper and use a small towel on my knee too to catch any errant talc or creams. I always have a selection of cosy blankets for clients comfort, if they want covering up. - I use a similar set up for my Lafuma chair - but have a large fleece blanket draped over the chair - so that the client can pull it around them if they wish.

Tescos has a value range in the larger stores that wash up ok and being a bit thinner, it means you can get more in the washing machine and they dry quicker. Not as fluffy, admittedly, but most people will be noticing their treatment rather that the towels! I use the white ones with no problems so far.

I buy mine from matalan and just use one hand towel. If the client is larger, ie a male, and I want to be able to wrap the towel around the feet I use a bath towel.

Personally I buy mine from TowelAreUs.com not only are their towels a great quality, they are very absorbent and dry you quickly. I found named brands are beautiful and fluffy but they really don't dry you, which also means when coming to wash and dry them, they take forever.

Also found the owners to be extremely friendly and my order arrived the next day, was great, because not only do they supply towels, but also bed linens and mattress protectors
