The commerical starts out with someone clutching their low back, with a grimace on their face.... and ends up advertising for a stupid pill!

Every time I see one of these commercials, it seems like the perfect set up for a massage therapy commercial!
You don't need drugs, you just need regular massages!

I wish AMTA/ABMP/other organization would start doing like a national massage marketing campaign or something, with a website address where people can find those of us who are "legit"


Wishful thinking, I know. It all costs money.
But wouldn't it be nice to see???

I was thinking the EXACT same thing but never could find time to start a discussion.

As a matter of fact, I was even willing to pay extra for my ABMP membership a year just for the national marketing campaign purposes.

I don't think they can afford TV, but ABMP is advertising on the radio. They advertise on National Public Radio and refer people to:

There's a "find a massage therapist" link on that website, to help people find a qualified MT. I think all ABMP members are automatically listed in that database.

It's not TV, but it's something!

As far as I know, you're on the find a mt link if you have a business phone number submitted to abmp. I just joined last week, and I'm alread on there

The AMTA has a natiional campaign running actually. They have print adds in major magazines and someone told me a commercial on some odd tv station, though I don't know if that is true.

I personally don't feel its enough but that is just me. My preference would be to see more money spent to educate the public and less on the political adgenda.
