Water bottle with your label

I've been looking for cost effective water bottle labels to slap on generic water bottles I'm going to get from Costco to give to clients after they've had a massage. The websites I've been too have had reasonable rates, but I found an even better website. If you got some creative juice in you, you can get blank water bottle labels (weatherproof and all that jazz) and then print on them yourself, which I'm sure is not too hard, their are lots of templates out there. So I ordered 400 labels from http://www.onlinelabels.com (8"X2.5"; so it wraps around a whole 16 oz. bottle) and has the adhesive already on it, so you just print and then stick. The cost per label was .17 cents (or .20 cents canadian), which I think is a steal. Just thought I would let everyone know....if anyone gives out water bottles to their clients, how has the response been??

I considered relabeling bottles but was told that I can't legally relabel someone elses product. Is there water out there that we CAN relabel? I was also told by people who knew people who bottle to be very careful of the glue or adhesive you use because it surprisingly can alter the flavour of the water?

Hmmm....that's an interesting question, lunabelle! I hadn't heard of that, but I wouldn't doubt that's true. The way I see it (and I could be wrong and I don't have any source to back me up, so this's personal opinion talking here), but I find it perfectly acceptable, say, to put your sticker just above or just below the water company label. That way, you're not covering up anyone else's "product name" (and since my water is the health-food store brand, I'd like my clients to know that I thought to get them what is perceived by myself and our clients as better-quality water), and yet you're still able to get your own information on there. My opinion is, I paid for the water, and to me there's no difference between handing them the bottle of water and my business card, and putting my label somewhere else on the bottle (or perhaps sticking it where it just covers the barcode or something and not the brand-name). I hope that the way I typed it makes sense

I've done something similar: I bought water at Costco too, (something like less than $5 for 24 bottles) and made my own labels on my computer using large self stick office labels I got at Office Max. I had my business name and an offer for $5 off the next massage. I also put "reduce reuse relax recycle" in the label.

I put it right over the bottle's original label, but it didn't wrap all the way around and you could still see the brand name.
