Webkinz questions from newbie parent?

My 6 yr old daughter loves the webkinz site, but I have a question:

Isn't the majority of the site accessible with just a single webkinz code from the cheapest stuffed pet you can buy?

What is the advantage of buying a more expensive pet, if you are only interested in the online site? Or the advantage of having more than one code activated at one time? (seems to make more economic sense to me to wait until your code expires, before activating your next code, to maximize your access to the site.
