What if we introduced Cyanobacteria to Pluto?

In some billion years or something, our sun is supposed to become a Red Giant, which would destroy planets too close to it, like Earth, but extend it's habitable area further away. What would happen if humans ever made it to Pluto, and left a block of like frozen cyanobacteria there? Would it start producing oxygen and create an ozone layer and help to create life there, eventually? Or would they just die off in the billion years it takes for the sun to get big as it needs to?
