My father was in a motorway accident, we were all in the car and were stationary at the time. I was 5 , remembersirens and blood and glass, but not much else. We were all unhurt.Since then my dad rarely drove and was a very tense passenger, always shouting at my mums driving.
I passed my test in 92 and had to drive to Manchester airport to pick my parents up. I got stuck in the car park and couldn't mange to move the car, I panicked, some unseen power helped me as the car in the space in front drove away and I managed to drive through and get away.
I have to drive to take my kids to activities and they often need to go into Cambridge 40 mins away, sometimes I have to drive into the city to drop dd off, other times I use the park and ride as I know there are loads of spaces. I have never driven into a mutli storey car park since 92. I am considering moving into the city so my children can get to more activities that they miss out on now.
The link on how it helped another with their driving phobia is very encouraging, also nice to see I am not the only one who suffers with this. Haven't checked all the links out yet, but will they help find me a therapist in Cambridge? I don't really want one who delves into my past, been there, wasn't good and it's all safely locked away now
