What type of robe?

So I'm in the market for a robe. Mainly for when clients need to get up to use the restroom mid-massage. I almost bought a fleece robe that I found at Target yesterday, but thought that fleece might feel gross when you have oily skin. It the cotton/poly blend ok? Or should I do terry cloth? What are your suggestions? Thanks!\

What type of robe?

I haven't had anyone yet need to go mid-session but never say never! We have robes we use when people are getting packages and moving between treatment rooms. They're white terry, very thick heavy terry. We've been using them for 5 years now and they still look like new.

Advice, make sure you get one large enough to cover the largest possible client you may have. We have some XXXL ones and ladies who have needed them are *so* grateful we have robes large enough to really wrap around themselves before tying. And don't forget slippers or inexpensive scuffs so they don't have to put shoes back on and aren't walking on floors with oily feet. Several sizes of those too.

EDA, oils, scrubs, muds etc have always washed out of the terry robes very easily.

What type of robe?

I agree on terry. I worked at a day spa who used these for moving clients all over the place. Wonderful to the feel and last for a long time, while still retaining their looks. I also agree on the XXXL.

Ok so terry cloth robes are good... but as for slippers... I haven't really thought about that. Are there slippers that you can wash between clients?

I don't get it very often, but now that I work out of a more professional building with MD's and MFTs ect. it seems right to cover them up nicely instead of just with a sheet like they did when I worked out of an actual massage center t005 I have probably had about 3 clients needing to do that and currently 2 of those clients are regulars...

I like big fluffy terry.
The spa where I work has the short waffle weave robes.
Even at the XL size I don't think they are big enough to cover everyone.
don't forget spa slippers.
they usually can't or don't want to put on their shoes so disposable and/or disinfectable spa slippers or sandals are a must.

This website sells slippers for $4.92. Never used them, just came up on a search.

I think MW has slippers too. You can throw these in the washer & dryer. I would use bleach, dry for 60 minutes on high heat. At $5 a pop, you can buy a few different sizes, and replace as needed.

We use something similar to Dearfoams, I think they're just called scuffs? Not sure where she got them, it could even have been the Family Dollar. They're a very fine, soft terry with one wide band that goes across the top of the foot. They have rubbery soles. We just throw them in the washer and dryer and they do fine. We've got a couple of pair that need replacing after 5 years because the edges are starting to fray a little but they're still functional. Since they're only wearing them between rooms and not all around the house at night (like I do, lol), we're gotten our money's worth.
