What would you do?? Client recieves shocking news in session

Recently a session was disrupted because my client's 13 year old niece died unexpectedly. The session was a 90 minute session and we were about half way through.

She needed to leave quickly and I told her we would settle up in the near future. She has been a client for 8 years and comes in 2 to 3 times a month on average.

This session would have been covered by a $100 gift certificate purchased by a family member and she did leave that with me before she left. What would you do to charge her?? Should I just not worry about it? Should I charge half? Full?

Something like this has never happened before, and I hope it never does again!

Everyone is different but I know what I would do. I would offer her an hour massage to finish out the session whenever she is ready and call it even. The good in that will come back to you anyway.

She sounds like a really good client to be coming in 2-3 times monthly for 8 yrs, so I would give her a reimbursement of the full 90 min.

Yeah I wouldn't charge for the session either. And I would also send "Sorry for your loss" card

I would provide a "do-over" at her convenience (as worked into my regular schedule) for the entire 90 min. session. No charge.
