Most pediatricians recommend waiting to introduce solids until the baby is about 6 months old. Talk to your pediatrician, 2 months is really young to start, and it can be a choking hazard, especially when the baby is too young to handle it.
Feed on demand, meaning, don't "hold him off" with a pacifier, when he seems hungry, feed him, and let him eat until he's done, make him another bottle even if some of it goes to waste.
My baby has been sleeping through the night since she was 2 months but then during the day she eats every 1-1/2 to 2 hours.
