Why doesn't my boyfriend introduce me to his friends?

I'm in a relationship with this guy who is 20 and I am 25. We've been together for over 6 months now and things are pretty much normal between us, regardless of the age difference. We know that its not a long term relationship and we're just going with the flow. His family doesn't live here and I'm generally there if he needs help with anything. The issue is he doesn't want me to meet his friends cause they are not my age but apparently they know about me, although he has met most of my friends.

I told him that if he is embarrassed to be with me because of the age gap then he might as well not be with me. He said he is not stressed out about the age gap but its more like I won't get along with his friends and he won't get along with mine.
I dunno what to do? I don't know if i'm doing the right thing by dating this guy :(
