A Maine doctor has been arrested and charged with sex trafficking after being accused of running an illicit massage business as a front for prostitution.
Peter O’Donnell, 68, of Yarmouth, was taken into custody by police Thursday morning after police searched both his doctor’s office on Forest Falls Drive in Yarmouth, and a Freeport massage parlor police say was serving as a front for prostitution.

According to police, O’Donnell recruited and employed at least two alleged victims to perform sexual services for clients at his massage parlor, A. Envy on Route 1 in Freeport.

The execution of the two search warrants Thursday morning came as a joint investigation by the Freeport and Brunswick police departments.

“Sex trafficking remains a serious issue across the nation, and Maine is not immune. This case highlights how some individuals misuse power, wealth, or influence to exploit others,” the Brunswick Police Department said in a news release.
O’Donnell was transported to the Cumberland County Jail where his bail was set at $2,500.
His arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 7, 2025.
According to state records, O’Donnell has been an actively licensed medical doctor in the state of Maine since 1993.
