Year old male cat, need help introducing him to 12 week old male kitten? And my...

...cat is fixed.? Okay, so I have a cat, he's pretty much still a kitten though. Like a year and a half, two if anything. He's been fixed for a little over 4 months. I just got a brand new 12 week old kitten, also a male. What's the absolute best way to introduce them?
 
Put the new kitten in a small pet carrier so it can see out and the older cat can see in. Place them together and let the older cat check out the new one through the holes if they don't hiss @ each other after about ten minutes let the kitten out. If they do hiss switch their positions for another 10 minutes and see how they respond. If they get into a fight put them in separate rooms or cages for awhile. That way they understand that they are not aloud to fight
