Hi All,
I have another question. I was working on a personal trainer today and couldn't seem to get enough pressure. He reviewed a 5 in most areas with the exception of the it band where he reviewed a 6. I had all my weight on him and you could feel his muscles twitching as I was working...
Hi

I am having a heck of a time trying to get to the piriformis on my sister.
She gets temporary relief and then after sitting for awhile the pain comes right back....I believe the sciatic nerve must run right thru it or next to it and that's where her pain comes in....seems like the piriformis is...
I am a new graduate...May 2007, to be exact, and my first gig is at a chiropractor's office. I have two clients that have got me completely stumped. Sadly, I dread being booked with them, because I feel ineffectual and frustrated throughout the session. But I digress....
Both clients have...
I'm dealing with a serratus anterior (and intercostals) that have gone literally rock hard with various forms of overuse and health issues. I'm having a hard time softening these areas up. Any hints/ideas as to how I should approach this other than a bit of heat and some good old fashioned...
Hi all
I have a new client this afternoon that has been referred by his doctor for widespread muscle pain/spasm that is supposedly a symptom of the Lipitor cholestrol lowering medication he has been prescribed.
Don't know the full story yet, but has anyone had a client with this side...
Hi - I'm new to this forum. I'm a Swedish Massage therapist and I'm from the UK. I've recently discovered this forum and I'm busy reading all the really interesting and helpful posts. I have lots of questions but my first one is....

Hi everyone [:-]
I've had a client contact me, and I am going to use her as a case study, she is in her 80's and has very, very bad muscle tone, so bad that she is unable to sit up for long without being in pain. Unfortunately she is unable to tolerate strong smells so at the moment I am...
When a muscle becomes the consistency of beef jerky, and is completely dehydrated, what would you suggest to that person?
Also, what do you suggest in the case of a muscle knot that is hard as a bone?
Thanks.
Hi,
As a chronic low back pain sufferer, I've done a lot of research on the connection between back pain and disc problems - but I still don't see the connection.
I found this guy Brian Bronk on YouTube and the internet...I like his ideas and I know they come from this guy named Thomas Griner...
I just started at a new place and it is more clinical then the last place I worked. What I mean is that it is run by a Doctor that is a MD and they have a Chirporactor on staff. I had to go thru a two week training program which I found very useful and did learn some new things and areas I could...
I had a client on my chair yesterday whose shoulders felt like marble. Her traps were completely immovable. Honestly, it felt as if I was palpating bone instead of muscle, and nothing I did (compression, kneading, stretching) softened them AT ALL.
The poor girl is suffering from constant neck...
has anyone attended the muscle release therapy workshops or bought the DVD's by Michael Young? Is the technique easy for the therapist to perform? Does the client get permanent pain relief as the website (http://www.mrtherapy.com) claims?
For weeks, my hamstrings keep bothering me after playing softball. Especially my right one. I've told the therapists at the chirpractor to work on my hamstrings, however, they never hit the spot because the pain was really between my quad and hamstring on the inside of my leg. Not really what...
I recently completed a course in Muscle Based Chair massage a few weeks back and at a function over the weekend I massaged ten individuals in the chair. Many of whom described the treatment with one word at the end - "Wow!", one went as far as to describe it as being "the best massage I have...
