Let me throw in a controversial post. I think Kenney and cohorts have lost it. Or just posturing to gain more Federal monies. Albertans are getting fucked big time. Long term closures are a joke, especially if it goes on till end of May. Serious? We have had this disease in our midst since end of last year. Deaths in care centres are terrible. So we need triple protection for the vulnerable, regardless of age. But we need the rest to get on with life. And build herd immunity. It's very likely that many of us were infected in past months and have the antibodies. These tests will come soon enough. Yep, I understand we don't want to overload our health system. But this is a democracy. So if you think this is not the right solution, contact your MLA and your MP. Sitting around in home office is a sure way to succumb to the idea that the Chinese government has of the west... nations of Wussies, quivering with fear at the smallest challenges. Am shocked by Kenney. The 'probable models' on the disease are a joke. Are you guys or gals impressed? Other nations like France are realizing that they need to protect the vulnerable and move forward. Alberta shut down till end of May? Will result in anarchy and mayhem. Pure stupidity! No need to be pissed at my post.. I've been actively over contributing to Alberta and Canada's wealth since I was a teenager. Let's get more engaged.

I agree Albertaman. This virus has been HERE amongst us since late December, possibly late November. It has been in China since well before November. I believe it made it's way over here during the Hong Kong riots. Many and I mean many Chinese went back to Hong Kong to empty their bank accounts and return to US or Canada thinking that China would grow weary of these riots and just lockdown that country and seize all assets. The riots and the virus were an overlapping situation. With all the movement around those parts during the riots, no surprise at how fast it spread.

The probable models he laid out in his address to the province are an absolute joke! Definitely identify and protect the vulnerable , the older people with pre-disposed or underlying conditions. We know now the virus targets these types. An absolute shut down till end of May or longer? Is that necessary? I don't think our economy would survive a hit like that. Try to open things a little at the end of April. A return to work slowly. Hopefully there will be Anti-body tests in our very near future. That would sure help ease the fear and tension. But until there is an actual Vaccine, I imagine a lot of people won't feel at ease .

This virus has been HERE amongst us since late December, possibly late November. It has been in China since well before November.

I believe it made it's way over here during the Hong Kong riots. Many and I mean many Chinese went back to Hong Kong to empty their bank accounts and return to US or Canada thinking that China would grow weary of these riots and just lockdown that country and seize all assets.

Not sure if you know that the virus originated from Wuhan back in November or so, and Wuhan is like probably a four to five hour flight from Hong Kong. Looks like the virus can teleport from Wuhan to Hong Kong.

They use PCR testing to test for COVID-19, and I think the margin for error is quite high for those tests, because the genetic materials that correspond with COVID-19 genomes is also naturally occurring in your body. What I am concern is the false-positive results that the media is potentially not telling us about.

The only numbers that are meaningful are deaths. And even those, when labeled as covid deaths are open to more scrutiny, when multiple underlying conditions are at play. Canada 519, Alberta 29. April 9 update. The Spanish flu 1918-1920 killed approximately 55,000 in Canada, mostly young adults aged 20-40. Globally wiped out 50 million to 100 million, when global population was 1.81 Billion.
