Best way to introduce my cat to my new roommates and their cat?

I have a 1 year old male cat who is neutered and has been an only pet his whole life (got him at 6 1/2 weeks old). I will be moving out of my boyfriends house and into an apt. with 2 other women and 1 of them has a cat. My cat hasn't really been around any other cats except the ones who sneak into my room at night and eat his food (we leave a crack in the door because he likes to go potty outside) anyways when these cats come in my cat just stays on the bed staring or hides under the bed so i don't think hes much of a fighter. I would like to know what is the best way to introduce my cat to the new apt and new cat with as little stress as possible and the highest rate of success that they will get along.? I don't want him to be sad that he wont see my bf as often, will have a new room, and will be a fully indoor cat now any advice would be great
