I couldn't care less what other people's service is like. I gauge my experience on what I paid and what I received, and I've been more than happy with that equation for some time now with my regular providers. It's very possible to be frugal without being cheap. How?
Don't chisel your provider. I'm paying a basic rate, I expect nothing more than the basic service. I don't whine or beg for other "top-ups" for free, I don't push myself on the gals (I ALWAYS ask before touching and always instantly and happily respect their boundaries) and I don't try to short them when it comes time to pay - you fuckin' "oh, whoops I only have $x" assholes - I've heard about it, it happens a lot.
I also prefer a super-light touch massage, which means physically a lot less demanding on the gals. If I wanted a true deep pressure, I'd probably up my tip a bit, it's a harder job to do. Some I see express that they like the break from deep tissue, it's a far easier session.
I always make appointments and I always keep them and I always arrive dead on time. I respect their time and schedule, that's worth something - being able to count on me even though I'm paying only the basic rate is better than some baller than no-shows half the time.
I'm impeccably clean, and I mean scrubbed everywhere. If I can't shower immediately before my session, I let them know I'll need a shower and I arrive a few minutes early to take care of that.
Now, you might do all of those things and still tip very high, and that's cool, that's good for these providers that we enjoy. That said, talking to the gals, there is a strong correlation between tip and sense of entitlement.
