gas prices

I live in a very rural area. I have a few clients who drive 30 some miles to come see me. I used to work for a chiropractor in their town, but now only work from my home. One of my regulars from there told me Saturday she cannot afford the drive anymore. She was very upset and cried, I told her I did understand. I did refer her to a very awesome MT from her town. I now worry that my others that come from that town will do the same if gas keeps going up. Has anyone else had this problem?

no, most of my clients live very close by. i can appreciate how rough that is though, as it is affecting my personal life and visits to my sister's.

is it possible for you to do some marketing arround your immediate area, people who are close to your home studio?

I hear ya. I'm rural too, a lot of clients live out of town, not even in other towns, but the out in the country - and its like pulling teeth to get them to come back into town for anything (I dont blame them, I don't either, its just one more trip) The clients that I have that do commute from another town (down to about 3 or 4 now) are diehards, but I have lost the others.

I have done what makingchange said - paid more attention to those immediatly in my area - it has supplimented my out of towners. Now if only I lived in town and didn't have a 20 mile commute to and from work......and didn't drive an SUV .....maybe I'd be doing better *grumbles about gas prices*
