Hello Webby
Basically, there is not a great deal of difference between a mainstream and holistic facial in terms of the routine. We still cleanse, tone, exfoliate, massage, masque and then finish with a moisturiser. In a beauty salon, this could be quite an intensive affair with lots of serums or extracts being used, maybe some equipment being used for a non surgical face lift etc. The holistic facial would work with fragrant-free or natural products using massage and pressure point techniques around the neck shoulders face scalp etc. This is designed to not only cleanse and tone the skin but to awaken the body's healing process by eliminating the natural toxins that contribute to the skin's conditions. The face neck shoulders etc are important energy centres and the holistic nature of the massage serves to restore balance as well as provide a beneficial treatment for the skin. The chakra balancing sequence at the end of the treatment, is a lovely way of relaxing and at the same time grounding the client before they go off to do other things.
I hope this helps.
Love
