If i share a number and give my own name as reference then i need to make the effort to tell the lady that such and such person would be contacting her. If the lady asks for the digits to be sure that i really know the person then that person will need to share his digits with me and not the other way around. If i have shared a number or a number has been shared with me where the reference is a 3rd person then there is a risk that the lady may or may not meet till that ref contacts her and that will not be in my or the other person's control. I dont think there would be anything either of us would be able to do about it.
