I also heard one guy was denied entry as an undesirable person for having so many pictures of naked girls in his phone. I don't know how true the story was. Why the hell they need to check his phone ?

They always check phones. My previous employees have always required the employees to NEVER take personal phones or laptops on work trips. We are issued new blank laptops with just a VPN software for business travel to the US.

I have not read the complete thread so I apologize if my comments repeat what other may have written. What's happening in the EBC corridor and I believe the City of Vaughan has nothing to do with any action being taken against organized crime or infractions of the criminal code of Canada. It is a bylaw enforcement action. The City of Richmond Hill is 100% responsible for the issue. Land Lords were allowed to rent to what might be considered to fringe businesses not for weeks or months but years. These business advertise their services and forums like this one activity discuss services offered. The bylaw the City has sighted has been in place longer than the vast majority of the spas. There is no excuse the City can raise for not enforcing years ago. The previous crack down in this area was a police action targeting criminal activity. The courts ruled against the action. This allowed the reestablishment of the area.

It is without doubt stupidity to believe closing these spas will do anything but drive activity underground increasing danger to the woman that work these jobs. If anyone thinks the spas drive business away try to find parking in the evening at any of the nearby restaurants in the evening western or asian.

If the city wants these businesses to relocate than compensate them to do so. If the city thinks they are saving our souls sorry too late and not their elected mandate.

Nothing new here, the train had left the station long ago in October 2020 when the staff report SRCS.20.31 was approved to examine the feasibility of passing a by-law to license, regulate and govern Spas and Wellness Centres in the Town of Richmond. Given how slowly government wheels turn, finally reaching the enforcement stage now.

Haha I went to Houston for an interview. Had letter of the interview from the company. Plane ticket was paid for by the company. Hotel info, etc. and they wouldn’t let me in. I had the company’s lawyer’s info and had to get the US CBP to call their lawyer to let me in. It is just stupid.

Watch the Border Protection TV show. They do check phones and laptops and look for child porn. Regular porn is ok but not child porn. I’ve not heard of a registered sex worker. But if she has a criminal charge for sex related work that would show up in a criminal background check. If she has phone text exchanges about trying to work as a prostitute in the US with a client that would show up. But, I’ve heard of mpa’s going to the US all the time in the past. Not heard of issues getting in.

It’s not just criminal charges, but the police share too much data with the US law enforcement. Eg this data, once shared, will never go away. This article says that Toronto police stopped sharing info but anything older could still be in the database.
