I had a bit of spare time the other day in Leeds city center before I had to be somewhere else. I thought I'd do a walk around the Thai massage shops.
I first went to Sawadee on Fish Street. It looked like it was closed, all the shutters were down, but there was a LED open sign that you could see through the shutters. This place is about as discreet as it gets. You probably have to call up to make an appointment or try your luck by knocking on the door next to the shutters.
Then up to Chayada on New Briggate. This shop is tucked away at the top of the side street, there are loads of large wheelie bins on the street, and there is scaffolding above the shop. It looked like there was a handwritten sign on the door asking to call a number to make a booking. You can't see into the shop either here, the windows are covered in their logo and stock photo images of oils and attractive Asian women.
Down to Baan Thai on Harrison Street, which is a side street. You can't see into this shop either, the windows are covered with branding and the same stock image girl from Chayada.
I haven't been to any of the three above. It is fairly obvious that these places are only catering to men, I can't imagine any women booking in here.
On the way back I walked past Charm on Vicar Lane, which is above the supermarket. I think this place has gone legit. I went here a few years ago before the pandemic, the service was fairly good.
I saw Nuad Thai on the other side of the road, which I think is also legit. I'm surprised that these legit places get enough business to stay open, I wonder who is going in there.
I didn't go up to Phun Tawee, I drive past here occasionally. This place is well-presented and looks like it could be legit, it isn't.
I didn't go to La Bella either, I often park in that area and walk past. It sounds like this place is hit-and-miss.
Have I missed any in the center?
