A prostitution racket operating under the guise of a massage parlour was busted by a police team from Kharadi Police Station. During the raid, six women, including three from Thailand, were rescued. The manager of the centre has been arrested for allegedly pushing the women into prostitution, and a case has been registered against the owner under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
According to police, they received information that a sex racket was being run under the name of a massage centre on the Kharadi-Mundhwa road. A decoy customer was sent to confirm the suspicion, and the operation was found to be active. A police team then raided the premises.
Investigations revealed that the accused lured the women with promises of money and forced them into prostitution. Legal action has been taken against both the manager and the owner. The rescued women, including the three Thai nationals, have been sent to a rehabilitation centre as per court orders.
The raid was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Hemant Jadhav, with the involvement of Senior Inspector Sanjay Chavan, Sub-Inspector Rahul Kolpe, and police personnel Navnath Valke, Surendra Sable, Arjun Budhavant, and Amol Bhise.
Complaints had been received about illegal activities being carried out in the name of massage services. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had earlier instructed action against such activities. Last year alone, actions were taken against 33 massage parlours in the city, with cases filed against both managers and owners.
