I have to agree with this...there's definitely a sense of entitlement with some guys on here. Do I get upset when my appointment is delayed? Of course but shit happens and most of the time it's delayed because other guys didn't show up on time or the guy before you is taking his sweet friggin' time leaving after his session is finished. Nobody bitches like crazy when their doctor's appointment or whatever else appointment is delayed but when the spa appointment is delayed by 10-15 mins, all hell breaks loose lol. Unless I'm on a tight schedule, I'll just take a shower and surf my phone for a bit...15 minutes goes by rather quickly.

And yes, nobody likes it when the spa tries to squeeze another customer in before their appointment but from their perspective the walk-in is a sure thing. There are so many guys that book an appointment and then don't show up or even bother to call the spa to cancel. Unless you are a regular customer, they don't know the responsible guys from the fakes so many spas are trying to balance taking the sure thing at the risk of pushing back the appointment time. As a customer, I don't like it either but I do understand why they are doing it. If you are a regular customer, hopefully they will try to contact you first.

Recently I booked my fave for 5pm. The owner called me (which she almost never does) and asked if I could come 15 minutes later. Apparently some walk-in came around 4:15pm and insisted on an 1hr appointment (obviously another entitled dude). My fave didn't have a customer all day so the owner was just trying to give her more business. If I was inflexible, she would have lost out on that customer but I was fine with it.

Like you said, the customer has the final say but man, too many guys are expecting flawless execution at these spas. It ain't gonna happen...even at very well known establishments with full time receptionists, I've had to wait 10-15 mins many times.

I don't agree here, I am usually met on time at most spas, if it's a delay it's usually on the girl.
If a customer comes late the apt should be cut short ....

I book all the time and find that I am almost always on time, with 5 minutes.
Can't be perfect, but generally I find booking is very good for my schedule.

I can say, appointment times almost always met Z-one, V-one, Comfort Foot, Utopia, Kerr St Wellness, (Maple when I was going there), and my few visits at SL West have been perfectly timed. So good on management in my mind.

I would say it is entitlement to offer subpar service or purposely bump a gpod client (knowing that they will come regardless) and then expect them to return.

No one is making a show of it, shorting tips, or causing any trouble- most are saying its a good reason to spread the $ to other spas.

Recently I booked a 11-12 appointment.. but couldn’t get there until 11:30. I told the manager I will keep the booking and pay for the 30 min I am not there regardless. And extend to 12:30 if she’s ok with it. I tipped as if it was a 90 min session instead of a 60 min session.

ETA: and when I can’t expect to make a certain time, I usually go as a walk in. Like today. But that being said, it worked out really well since I got someone I had been looking to meet. If I made an appointment I would have chosen someone else.

When hiccups happen due to your own fuckery, or just the natural flow of life, of course it is correct to be understanding and walk it off.

The thread originally began discussing spas where this happens often, and/or the scenario where it occurs to accomodate another client, so they dont lose that sale.

I would suggest that my visiting the last 5 years had cost me over $xx,xxx a year ... so I can't speak for you, but I certainly know that it's in the top 5% of visiting, all that visiting is local to Oakville (90%).

As, I don't have this concern, I'm very clear that my time is valuable ..... and if I book an appointment, I expect the appointment time to be met. Happy Friday.

After much deliberation and a lot of private chats outside of the opinions and discussions above I’ve come to the conclusion that we all need to see this from all angles.
The girl needs to make money, we support her and if she’s a regular we support her more. We support the spa owner who makes less than half of what the girl does for each visit we make, so he/she needs more girls and less overhead to make more money.
We are the wild card, some of us are retired and have a flexible schedule, some of you (not I) are single and don’t have to be home for dinner and can stay out past 8pm without having to explain why your top button on smyour shirt isn’t buttoned like it was in the morning or why your understate on backwards when you undress at night…
And a fair few of us are married and have strict timelines between meetings or need to pick someone up at the GO train at 6:37….
When I mentioned this to my favorite girl who I was having issues with her reply was simple - “ yes - and we need to understand each other better”…
I’ve raised the issue that I had and so far, albeit only tested twice, my appointments have been on time, however, the reception by both the spa owner and my favorite girl has definitely been more businesslike than before.
No hugs or chocolates on the way out like before….just “see you next time”…

This sounds petty but is actually a great route when a girl pisses you off, not the manager. Go see other ones- if you are really tight with the owner? Go see the one you know she doesnt like lol...

We can be so good to them if they treat us right, but if they don’t? No need to yell or undertip. Just rub her nose in it.
