There's no doubt the racism and conspiracy theories are all actively permitted. Admin knows everything that's going on here. Moderation is a lot of work.

Actually, I don’t think it’s as much work here as people think, especially if the Admin is earning an income of the advertising revenue. Once ad revenue is involved this becomes a business and the Admin should treat it as such. Most of the other forums are dead. They were seeded in 2011 and 2012 with posts from Terb but few have any volumes since then. Toronto, chat, India and maybe Edmonton have any real volumes and the advertising revenue Is from Toronto area jobs.

Set a policy of acceptable content, get everyone to agree to them, and stick to it. Move off topic threads to the chat, Lock threads as required, delete posts that violate the policy, warn users that violate policies, then temporarily suspend then block accounts that Ignore the warnings. All the racist and nazi shit shouldn’t be allowed and there are hate speech laws around that. If the Admin is actually letting it remain he is then perpetuating it (like the editor of a newspapers) and he should be equally held to account as the poster. If the server host is informed and worries about their culpability (they are also perpetuating it) then they could shut the whole board down if they see any legal jeopardy of their own.

Apologies "Moderation is a lot of work" was meant to render as my sarcastic voice...

In particular properly tagging advertising threads as such, and moving the dozens of daily threads positing how vaccines kill / Trump won / Jews are Satanic / Blacks are subhuman / etc. etc. into a catch all Neo Nazi / Conspiracy subsection would actually be incredibly easy, but someone has to do it.

Besides M777 who was banished to the Chit Chat section (and is now battling his complete isolation there by clogging up every thread on the board with his insanity) no one else is going to voluntarily label their threads as Chit Chat, or anything besides "Toronto Massage Review", so inescapably someone else has to do it, which should be Admin, or another person he designates if he doesn't want to do it himself.

But of course the larger problem is he doesn't really want to do it at all! There is actually some moderation... a few times when people's addresses, personal photos etc. were posted he did something about that, which was a start and very helpful given the criminal invasion of privacy. But beyond those extremes it seems he feels that absolute freedom of expression is the key to differentiate this board from TERB no matter what the cost, even if it means that the site is completely overrun by people who want to talk about Jews controlling the world, Bill Gates killing everyone, etc. etc. Agree he is running the risk of some person getting seriously incited by all the hate on this board, which could put the entire site in jeopardy if some insane act were inspired by much of the psycho content here.

I agree with you Admin should really look at it from a business perspective. Enacting some very basic ground rules and proactively enforcing them with a handful of the worst offenders would make a massive difference to the quality of the site, and ultimately greater quality = more income.
